Reading specialists serve and positively impact a large number of children and young adults and provide support and intervention for struggling readers.
In this program, participants will:
Reading specialists can provide ongoing professional development as literacy leaders within schools, benefiting faculty and staff. The demand continues to rise for highly qualified reading specialists.
Candidates who complete this program are eligible to apply for an endorsement in the Reading Specialist area from the Kansas Department of Education. Students seeking this endorsement must hold a valid Kansas professional teaching license.
Courses in this program can be used toward a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction.
