Program Description:

Gerontology Master's Degree 

The gerontology master's degree program is designed to prepare students who plan to work directly with older people or who will be involved in education or research related to aging issues.

This program provides students with the core competencies identified by the Association for Gerontology in Higher Education and draws on the expertise of graduate faculty and graduate courses from several universities. Students completing the program at Kansas State University will earn a master's degree in family studies and human services with a specialization in gerontology.

Gerontology Graduate Certificate

The gerontology graduate certificate program is designed for students whose goal is a credential in gerontology and who do not need a master's degree. The program will prepare professionals who are either working directly with older people or who are involved in education or research related to aging issues. Students are provided with the core competencies identified by the Association for Gerontology in Higher Education.

The program is offered through the Great Plains Interactive Distance Education Alliance (Great Plains IDEA).
