Program Description:

With a Master of Arts in Gifted Education degree, you can learn innovative ways to teach our most talented, gifted students and help them realize their potential. Licensed, certified teachers who wish to pursue this degree are interested in becoming a teacher of gifted and talented students, program facilitator at the school level or gifted curriculum specialist at the district level. Other job opportunities include gifted and advanced placement (AP) classroom teacher or gifted programs coordinator. Either teacher licensure or one year of verifiable teaching is a prerequisite for this regionally accredited program. This degree is aligned with National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) and the Interstate Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium (InTASC) standards, and may make you eligible for gifted endorsement. The degree program emphasizes and fosters ways to identify, teach and nurture gifted children academically, mentally and emotionally. Assignments within each course guide you through 75-hours of observation and practice. This allows you to gain hands-on experience by applying these concepts inside P-12 classrooms.
