Overview
The Certificate in Public and Nonprofit Management at Georgia Southern University is intended for in-service career professionals in public and nonprofit management who have an interest in furthering their managerial acumen through outstanding web-based instruction. The five course sequence integrates public administration theory with practice, providing practical, real world knowledge and experience. The entire curriculum is offered completely online and was developed with an eye toward meeting the needs of busy professionals. The Certificate of Public and Nonprofit Management is a component of the Master of Public Administration (MPA) Program, which is fully accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA) and a member institution of the National Academic Centers Council (NACC).

After earning the certificate, students with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 may elect to change their status so they can complete the MPA degree. The MPA degree requires a total of 39-credit hours, whereby, in addition to core management courses, students pursue an area of concentration in public management, nonprofit management, or criminal justice administration. The MPA Program at Georgia Southern University is fully accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA).
