Our Rehabilitation Counseling program is among the very best in preparing highly knowledgeable students to become professionals who empower physically, mentally, emotionally or socially disabled persons to rehabilitate and resume their place in society.
Consisting of 48 credits, the program encompasses a wide range of rehabilitation counseling theories and practices, including multicultural counseling, attitudinal and environmental barriers for people with disabilities, rehabilitation services, case management, medical and psychosocial aspects of disability, job placement and ethical standards for rehabilitation counselors.

You will graduate prepared to work in a variety of public, private and non-profit settings. Rehabilitation counselors commonly work with community-based agencies, which often focus on specialized populations such as individuals who have developmental disabilities, chronic mental health issues or specific medical disabilities such as HIV/AIDS. Rehabilitation counselors may also be employed in non-traditional settings such as in community counseling agencies, substance abuse agencies and human resource departments.
