Upgrade – Get a Degree From an Accredited University
Your undergraduate degree helped get you where you are today. Preparation for a management-level position is the obvious next step. Eastern Michigan University has designed a program that will help you become as proficient at managing technology as you are at utilizing it.
The engineering management degree offers you the reputation and resources of Eastern Michigan University's School of Engineering Technology – located in the heart of one of the world's major technology and research corridors. EMU's close ties with business and industry leaders led to the development of a program that is as current as it is professional.
The Master of Science in Engineering Management degree was developed based on research about what is most important to know about Engineering Management for today’s work environment, including the bodies of knowledge used for professional certification in engineering management, project management, manufacturing engineering, lean systems and quality management.
The Master of Science in Engineering Management program is appropriate for a wide range of engineering, industrial and/or technically-focused individuals who have previously pursued a four-year degree in technology, business, engineering or science. It meets the needs of technical professionals who are looking for both an advanced degree and appropriate preparation for their natural progression into management-level positions. It also meets the needs of professionals who are on a technical, rather than managerial career track, as it will help them to be more effective in managing the integration of their technically-focused jobs with others in team-based environment.
Our program particularly fits the needs of busy professionals who are working in business, industry and the military—who may be located anywhere in the world—by being available completely online, as well as on the EMU campus.
The engineering management program focuses on management of:
Research and development
Engineering projects and programs
Design and manufacturing systems
People, resources and organizations
Lean enterprise systems
Our engineering management program also functions as a primary area of specialization for students enrolled in the Ph.D. in Technology program at EMU. Many of the Ph.D. in Technology students are graduates of our EM program, and many of our EM graduates have achieved great professional success in their careers.
Formatted for Your Schedule
The program is tailored to the needs of busy professionals by offering the "anywhere, anytime" convenience of an online education. Face-to-face classes are also offered on EMU’s main campus.
Out-of-state and international students can take EMU-Online courses at in-state tuition rates. This perk will save you thousands of dollars over the course of your education.
You will receive a high-quality education and expand your horizons world-wide by learning online. Classes are taught by EMU faculty and part time lecturer professionals from the industry who will be available to you through out your classes. You will participate in group discussions and assignments with fellow students from the U.S.A. and across the world--and learn from them as well. Many of our students are currently working as engineers or engineering managers in some of the world’s largest and most successful companies. We also have military personnel in our program, from multiple branches of the U.S.A. armed services. Many of these service men and women take our online classes while serving at bases or on ship overseas.
Eastern Michigan University is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and holds 42 professional association affiliations.
