Master of Education - Early Childhood Special Education
Concordia University, Nebraska’s M.Ed. in Early Childhood Special Education offers the knowledge teachers need to design, implement and assess learning experiences for an early childhood special education classroom. The online master's program prepares current teachers to advance their careers as special education teachers for young students and to create inclusive classrooms. Program coursework meets the guidelines set by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Our faith-based, hands-on curriculum prepares educators to provide positive experiences for young children with diverse developmental needs and effect meaningful change in learning environments. Focusing on children from birth through kindergarten, the program can be completed in two years. The 36-hour coursework leads to eligibility for a Nebraska early childhood special education teaching certification for those candidates who hold a valid Nebraska teaching certificate. If students have already earned a master’s in education degree from Concordia Nebraska, they can earn the Early Childhood Special Education Endorsement.
