Program Description:

The elementary education programs offered through our College of Adult and Graduate Studies will provide you with the skills to make a meaningful impact on the world’s next generation of learners. As a teacher candidate, you will study education theory and participate in field-based learning experiences that put you in the classroom. This unique combination of theory and practice will help you develop the competencies necessary to become an effective Elementary teacher in K-6 classrooms.

Taught from a Christian worldview, our elementary education programs are offered online, on site, and in hybrid formats. Each course will help you address the diverse needs of today's learners through servant-leadership in classrooms, schools, and society as a whole. Small class sizes encourage individualized learning and networking and give you direct access to instructors who are also professionals in the field.

The post-baccalaureate licensing program for Elementary Education is designed for adult students nationwide (see state exclusion list below) who have already completed a bachelor’s degree and wish to obtain a teaching license that allows them to teach Kindergarten through sixth grade in public, international, private, and public charter schools. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates apply to the Colorado Department of Education for a Colorado teaching license. Out-of-state students will use their Colorado license to apply for licensure in their home state through their department of education’s teacher licensure reciprocation process.
