MSN - RN-to-MSN Nursing Leadership and Administration (CCNE-accredited)

Format: Online

Program Description:

A bachelor’s degree is becoming standard for nurses, but you can take your education even further—all the way to your MSN. Capella’s online, CCNE-accredited RN-to-MSN Leadership and Administration program—in conjunction with your RN license and 135 quarter credits of undergraduate work—is the most efficient and affordable path to your MSN, allowing you to complete your degree in as little as two years without the additional time and expense of earning a BSN.

The streamlined RN-to-MSN Leadership and Administration program will help you build critical skills and knowledge to make a bigger impact on health care policies and practices, and to be a leader in high-performing health care organizations. Expand your knowledge of health care systems and policies, patient education, health promotion, and technology integration. Then explore, define, and develop traits that nurse executives need to manage health care quality and safety, understand finance and operations, lead health care innovations, and respond to health care challenges and trends. The curriculum incorporates the American Association of Colleges of Nursing's (AACN) Essentials of Baccalaureate Education for Professional Nursing Practice, the Essentials of Master’s Education in Nursing, and hands-on practice immersion.

With your Master in Nursing Leadership and Administration, you'll learn to build high quality healthcare organizations that meet compliance and regulatory standards, create organizational cultures that support quality patient care and integrate nursing leadership theory and management skills to foster and promote ethical and legal health care delivery systems.

Common jobs with an online Master in Nursing Leadership and Administration include emergency department director, nursing executive, nursing faculty, director of nursing, chief nursing officer, head nurse or wellness program director. Potential workplaces include: hospital, clinic, medical center, home health care agency, community or technical college, land-based or online college or university or hospital-based school of nursing.
