Applicable to every industry, BU’s Graduate Programs in Management develop advanced critical reasoning skills, leadership from a global perspective, and practical tools for actionable growth in a changing business landscape.

Preparing for the Horizon

The Master of Science in Business Continuity, Security and Risk Management online program goes beyond the traditional view of risk management, disaster preparedness, and recovery. While these areas are important, BU’s specialized program takes a broader perspective in evaluating, measuring and mitigating both downside (bad events) risk and upside (strategic) risk to a company.

Whether they be risks to physical assets, data or intellectual property, or competitive, political or opportunity risks, students in the program are prepared to think through these issues and find effective ways to solve them. Through the coursework, which includes high-level discussions, complex projects, and simulation exercises, students learn to think proactively about risk, anticipating market shifts, changing environments and turbulence, while also planning for all possible scenarios and eventualities.

BU’s forward-thinking master’s program empowers students to investigate the possibility of internal disruptions to business activities, such as supply chain problems, brand name protection in the social network environment, information systems breaches and crashes, manufacturing and human resource disruptions, as well as natural disasters and terrorism. Teaching from experience, the instructors challenge students to think critically about real-world problems and emerging issues in today’s ever-changing business world.
