Special Education Licensure
Format: Online
Earn your SPED license and advance your teaching career. The online special education licensure program at Bethel University prepares you to teach students with mild disabilities. You’ll be able to do more for your students, increase your earning potential and meet the needs of a growing workplace.
You’ll train in areas crucial to the field, such as social and environmental interaction, instructional planning, intervention and more. In addition, you’ll complete a two-semester internship to be mentored by professionals as you learn to put theory to practice.
Robust coursework includes the following:

Instructional Planning and Delivery: Evidence-Based Practice
Communication, Technology, and Mentorship
Supervised Residency/Internship and Seminar
Upon completion of our online special education certification, you’ll be prepared to take the following Indiana Content Area Assessment Tests:
Exceptional Needs—Mild Intervention (025)
Exceptional Needs—Mild Intervention: Reading Instruction (064)
You’ll study online in the times it’s best for you and can get started at six points in the year. You’ll complete the program in 12 months or fewer, ready to improve classroom learning and take your career to new heights.
