Ball State University’s master of arts in public relations was the first and only graduate PR program certified in the nation by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), the largest professional organization serving the field of public relations. The program recently was named to the Top 10 “Up and Coming Graduate Programs” by the Commission on Public Relations Education. An award-winning program, the master’s in public relations has a distinguished history dating back more than 40 years.
Although the entire degree is available online, students can pursue it on campus or through a blend of both online and on campus. Studying theoretical and applied communications, students focus on theory, planning, writing, and management skills. Mentoring students are faculty who are distinguished scholars and talented practitioners with years of experience in public relations, journalism, advertising, and marketing.
Courses include Studies in Journalism and Communication Research Methods, Public Relations Management, Public Relations Case Studies, Public Relations Campaigns, and Public Relations Evaluation Techniques.
The public relations program is housed in Ball State’s Department of Journalism, which is part of Ball State’s College of Communication, Information, and Media, one of the nation’s 10 largest colleges of communication.
