Program Description:

The Master of Music Therapy program provides students a holistic approach to health care and the opportunities to apply advanced practices in a variety of clinical settings. Students entering the program may be certified music therapists or may hold a bachelor’s degree in music and utilize an equivalency plus, summer intensive program to cover their required prerequisites. Online coursework is combined with on campus intensive sessions in this quality program. Opportunities for clinical work and research utilize the many hospitals and clinics in our metropolitan location. The comprehensive program consists of core music therapy courses, courses focused on the practice of music therapy in healthcare and medicine, and elective courses of interest.


Augsburg College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The Master of Music Therapy program is approved by the National Association of Schools of Music and the America Music Therapy Association.
