The faculty is made up 15 professors whose work covers all major periods of French and Hispanic literatures. Although the faculty is very active on national and international levels, they also work closely with the graduate students. Many of our students are engaged in joint projects or research with faculty members and,in addition to financial support, the teaching assistants receive helpful supervision, including a 2-week training seminar prior to classes and an ongoing seminar during the school year. The graduate students are seen as an essential and vital part of the Department, and they participate actively in the administration of the program. The success our students have had in finding teaching positions attests to the effectiveness of this program.
