Master of Arts with a Specialization in Teaching American History and Government
Designed for secondary school social studies teachers, Ashland University's Master of Arts with a Specialization in Teaching American History and Government (MASTAHG) combines the deep study of the people, places, events, and ideas that make up the American experience with the study of the latest theories in curriculum and instruction.
WIth courses offered as weeklong summer seminars at our Ashland, Ohio campus (content courses only), as traditional evening classroom courses at our regional campuses throughout Ohio (education courses only), and online courses offered throughout the year, you can earn the master's degree you want no matter where you live.
MASTAHG is a low-residency hybrid program that combines a minimum of 6 weeks of summer on-campus study with up to 24 semester credit hours of online coursework. Students have the flexibility to spread out their studies over several years if needed to accommodate personal, professional, or financial needs.
