M.P.A.- Public Administration, Certificate in Policy Analysis
The core of the program resides in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration. The department works
to provide a generalist degree in public administration. Students with special interests can gain specific foci by drawing on the expertise of other departments at the university. It also offers a track in Health Administration as well as a JD/MPA option. Our students come from a broad variety of backgrounds, from accountants to political scientists to zoologists. They also work at every level of government, as well as in the nonprofit sector. Some go on to work in the private sector.
Our faculty come from some of the best universities in the U. S. While everyone in the department has an active research agenda which reflects interests in both pure and applied research, we pride ourselves on being a teaching department. The department has won university awards for its teaching. Because our program is relatively small, students have easy access to the faculty and faculty are willing to make time to work with students. Students can also get involved in research projects at the Bureau of Governmental Affairs which conducts research on issues of importance to state and local governments and non-profit organizations.
UND is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. UND also holds many special accreditation's at the college, department, or program level.
