The Department of Counseling and Educational Development offers programs in communitycounseling (general), community counseling with a specialization in marriage and family counselingor gerontological counseling, student development in higher education, and school counseling. TheCouncil for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) has conferredaccreditation on the program areas of community counseling, student development in highereducation, school counseling, and counselor education.
