Program Information

Degrees Offered:

Reading Education

Format: Campus

Program Description:

All kinds of readers--from the precocious, to the normal, to those who have difficulty--are the subject of study and research in Reading Education, which concentrates not only on elementary, secondary school, and adult learners, but also on early readers three years old and younger. The important "Annual Summary of Investigations Related to Reading" is compiled by members of the program. The Reading Center, a well-equipped diagnostic clinic, allows students, under supervision, to apply the various theories they learn in class to children with literacy and learning problems.
