Program Description:

The department offers a variety of programs leading to the M.A. or Ph.D. degrees in political science, including dual M.A./J.D. and Ph.D./J.D. degrees in political science and law. Fields of study include American politics, comparative politics, international politics and public policy. Special areas of graduate study focus include democracy and democratization; the scientific study of international processes, political conflict resolution, international futures, game theory, formal modeling, rational choice, quantitative methods, and politics, race, law and minority groups in America. Graduate assistantships and fellowships are available for qualified graduate students, with stipends for the academic year plus a tuition award. Special Minority Fellowships are also available.
