Enhance your functional expertise and develop a specialized skillset in our challenging master’s degree programs. No matter which area best suits your professional interests and goals, a master's from Whitman will prepare you to enter your field as a very knowledgeable and marketable professional. The MS in Accounting program at the Whitman School of Management produces graduates with the highest level of professionalism and the educational requirements needed to take the CPA exam in New York and many other states. This rigorous program attracts students with a background in accounting and those with education in other disciplines. If entering with a bachelor's degree in accounting, students complete 30 credits in one year, while those without a degree in accounting are required to take up to an additional year of study, depending on the student's previous business and accounting coursework. Whitman MS in Accounting students take advanced courses in financial statement analysis, strategic cost analysis, advanced auditing, taxes and business strategy, economics, and statistics, along with a variety of electives to complement their career goals. The recently redesigned curriculum prepares students for the expanding roles accounting professionals play in business strategy, consulting, information management, planning, and decision-making. The 30-credit-hour Whitman MS in Entrepreneurship program provides a rigorous immersion into the nature of entrepreneurship and the entrepreneurial process. Combining core content with a strong commitment to experiential learning, the program is targeted to students with a passion for entrepreneurship in start-ups and larger, more established companies, and in the for-profit, non-profit, and public sector contexts. Established in 1992, Whitman's program in Entrepreneurship and Emerging Enterprises (EEE) is today one of the most comprehensive and respected in the country. Syracuse University has adopted a campus-wide initiative on entrepreneurship, where entrepreneurship is being integrated into multiple schools and courses across campus. The EEE program has earned recognition as a top-tier program in ratings by U.S. News & World Report, Bloomberg BusinessWeek, and Entrepreneur magazine/Princeton Review. Our MS in Finance program is a rigorous, one year curriculum that prepares you to be a leader in the dynamic, fast-paced, and intellectually challenging world of finance. The program's core courses explore the nature of capital markets as they relate to organizational goals and provide an understanding of how broad principles of finance and quantitative methods can be applied to create investment strategies. The program is flexible and allows you to customize your degree by taking elective courses in any of the following areas: statistics, accounting, economics, risk management, real estate, and corporate finance. With a state-of-the-art trading room, you’ll have personal access to current market data, live news feeds, software for analysis, and other resources used by professionals in the field, including Bloomberg certification terminals and Factset terminals through Whitman's Ballentine Investment Institute. In today’s global economy, successfully managing the logistics of an organization, and between organizations, requires a solid knowledge base and honed strategic thinking skills. The new MS in SCM at Whitman entails a challenging, globally immersed curriculum and a myriad of opportunities to gain relevant, real-world experience. This combination of classroom and experiential learning works to build your confidence in maneuvering the most complex supply chain scenarios. And the analytical skills gained through logistics training extend well to understanding the implications of any business decision
