Project Management Advanced Certificate
Format: Campus
In today's business-oriented society, project-based organizations have become the norm and project management has become much more than just a way of conducting business. New growth within these project-based organizations has changed the shape of project management to reveal what is becoming an exciting new career path for many individuals. Project Managers have quickly become a necessary asset for many businesses. The goal of a project manager is to successfully plan, organize and accomplish a specific project or one-time effort. Encountering the challenges of cultural and social differences, along with dealing with an assortment of industrial focuses, the Project Manager must be aware of his or her project goals on a daily and sometimes hourly basis. The basis for the completion of any great project is a well thought out project plan. RIT's new graduate certificate in Project Management will teach students how to plan, develop, and implement successful projects from initiation to termination.
RIT's Center for Multidisciplinary Studies offers a wide and varied menu of courses in the area of Project Management. All of these courses are available through distance learning in ten week (quarter system) online classes. Each course is designed to provide students with an understanding of the fundamentals of the subject, practical experience in creating and developing information products related to that subject, and perspectives on the latest trends and developments in the subject area. Students may apply the credits earned in this certificate towards the completion of their MS in Professional Studies.
