Dyson College of Arts and Sciences
The BS and MS degree programs in Forensic Science prepare students to enter the world of crime scene investigation and criminal laboratory analysis with a strong background in the basic sciences. With the rapid increase in the sophistication of the technology for investigating crimes and crime scenes, police and other investigative agencies are experiencing a shortage of properly trained personnel. As a result, they are seeking to hire qualified graduates who have the basic science education and training needed to understand and use the new equipment and technology. Forensic scientists are not limited to working on crimes against individuals; they also investigate crimes against society including food adulteration, pollution, biochemical warfare, terrorism, as well as hazards in the work place.
