NYIT's Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Computer Graphics is a diverse program with a long history. The Digital Art and Design department is the birthplace of Pixar Animation Studios, and has remained on the leading edge of applied digital media studies. With concentrations in Graphic Design, Animation, and Fine Arts & Technology, students have the option to gain hands-on skills using the latest technologies including a 36-camera motion capture lab, 3-D printing devices, immersive environments, and more. Address complex problems and creative research in areas of design including content, print, web, interactive design, exhibition design, and interface design. Our M.F.A. program in graphic design emphasizes professional workflow, including concept development, logistical planning, technical implementation, and production, culminating in a final design thesis project.
Our Art & Technology Master of Fine Arts program gives you the tools to express your inspiration through new media forms and technologies. Develop creative artwork that utilizes a combination of traditional and digital processes to produce digital imagery, physical objects, time-based media, installations, game environments, and virtual reality. Push the boundaries of new media and explore emerging technologies in areas such as motion capture, 3-D scanning and printing, programming, and augmented reality.
In our Computer Graphics/Animation M.F.A. program, you’ll take courses that emphasize creative thinking; character, storytelling, and storyboard development; digital compositing; and special effects experimentation. In the program, you’ll develop a competitive portfolio of innovative computer animation that reflects your personal style.
