Program Description:

Historical Studies is an interdisciplinary program that brings historians and social scientists together to develop critical approaches to historical questions. Students who complete the master’s degree can apply for admission as PhD dual-program students, pairing historical study with doctoral work in programs such as politics, sociology, and anthropology.


All degree programs at The New School are registered by the New York State Department of Education. The New School has been regionally accredited by Middle States Commission of Higher Education since 1960.
