Juilliard’s Vocal Arts Department has achieved a reputation throughout the music world for the superior quality of its education and artistic training. The department’s faculty members include some of the most influential musicians and directors in the field. In 2010, the program was named the Ellen and James S. Marcus Institute for Vocal Arts in recognition of a substantial gift to provide expanded training and performance opportunities for students at all levels of study.
As a voice major at Juilliard, you will work closely with our dedicated faculty members and enjoy ample performance opportunities. These include two fully-staged operas and one semi-staged opera in the Peter Jay Sharp Theater, the Alice Tully Vocal Arts Debut Concert, the Juilliard Songbook and Liederabend series, and master classes with world-renowned opera stars and recitalists.
