MS in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration

Format: Campus

Program Description:

A Master's in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration equips you for a wide range of careers in higher education administration, at public and private colleges and universities. Consider collegiate administration if you enjoy working in the college environment – from residence life to career counseling to student services to multicultural affairs.

Study in this two-year, full-time program and you will be prepared to make your mark in today's higher education field. A comprehensive combination of coursework, internships, and independent research provides a well-rounded program covering numerous aspects of higher education from theories of leadership to counseling in student affairs.

The program gives you great flexibility, as you take three courses per semester and complete two internships for hands-on, professional experience. You can choose to write a final thesis as part of an independent research project or take a comprehensive final exam. You will also be well-prepared to pursue a doctoral degree if desired.

Program Highlights • Start in the fall. • Participate in two internships at Canisius, or other universities, nationally or internationally • Obtain an assistantship and earn financial assistance toward your tuition. • Attend two national conferences alongside your professors. Conferences are included in program cost. • Join a tight-knit cohort of 20–30 fellow graduate students. • Complete your degree in just two years.

Apply before February 1 and you can qualify for a graduate assistantship that will pay for 80-90% of your tuition. Whether you work on our campus or elsewhere, you’ll gain firsthand experience in college administration.
