This adolescence education program is for students who have an undergraduate degree in Spanish and seek certification to teach either subject in grades 7-12. Students who complete the degree are eligible for initial certification (see Teacher Certification for more information). Applicants must have a baccalaureate degree and an undergraduate major in Spanish. The applicant's undergraduate work must be acceptable to the Romance Languages Department in Harpur College, as well as to the Graduate School of Education. Students without appropriate undergraduate preparation are required to take additional intermediate and upper - level courses to be eligible to apply to this program.
