Program Description:

The Community and Public Affairs PhD program prepares students for careers as public scholars focused on addressing critical social and community issues. Drawing from various disciplines, the program uses the ecological systems framework of human development and emphasizes the importance of interdisciplinary and engaged approaches for studying community and social issues. Students entering the program typically have several years of practice experience in a variety of fields, such as education, counseling, human services, public health, public administration, social work, or student affairs administration.
