Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology
Since its founding in the 1950s as the first university-based professional school of clinical psychology, the Derner Institute has set the pace for doctoral-level training in the field. Derner’s Ph.D. program continues to be based on the scholar-practitioner model, and it has a long tradition of training students in psychodynamics and psychotherapy integration. Many of its faculty members and alumni are nationally and internationally recognized experts in the field.

- The Derner Institute has set the pace in clinical psychology training—as the first university-based professional school, accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) since 1957.
