The Astronomy Department at NMSU offers programs leading to the Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. Graduate coursework includes, but not limited to, topics in astrophysics, stellar atmospheres, observational techniques, the interstellar medium, galactic structure, star formation and evolution, extragalactic objects, cosmology, and solar system studies.
Accreditation:Our graduate degree requirements are aligned with the requirements set forth by the NMSU Graduate School.
International Student Requirements:International applicants submitting foreign post-secondary level transcripts are required to have their credentials evaluated by a recognized member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). NMSU requires a comprehensive course by course evaluation. In addition, international students must submit an English language proficiency exam (either TOEFL or IELTS.)
