Program Description:

Plymouth State’s Master of Education in School Counseling will prepare you to become certified as a professional school guidance counselor. School counselors are dedicated to helping students grow and develop, ensuring that they’re able to become productive members of society with the tools necessary to achieve their goals. Additionally, Plymouth State’s school counseling program is the only program in New Hampshire to be accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). The MEd in School Counseling is designed to prepare students to function as K–12 Certified Professional School Counselors. This program is approved by the New Hampshire Department of Education and leads to New Hampshire certification in school (guidance) counseling. PSU’s school counseling program is nationally accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). It is the only school counseling program in New Hampshire to hold this prestigious accreditation.

International Student Requirements:

International students must have proof of English level proficiency through either the TOEFL, IELTS, or ELS Level 112 scores. In addition, you must provide an I-134 Affidavit of Financial Support Form. Documents, including bank statements and other financial documents dated within the past 30 days, that confirm you have the financial resources to study for a year at Plymouth State must be submitted to the College of Graduate Studies. You must also include a copy of your valid passport with your application materials. Finally, you must also submit official, notarized transcripts, verifying that you've completed at least a baccalaureate degree, which must be translated into English and evaluated for institutional equivalency.
