Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Higher Education
PSU’s new Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) in Higher Education is designed to provide post-masters graduate students with the background needed for successful careers in a variety of higher education environments. The CAGS in Higher Education offers two concentrations in Higher Education Administration and Curriculum and Instruction.
These 33-credit programs will prepare students to assume leadership positions in higher education, whether as administrators or instructors. Both programs are designed to develop students’ critical thinking and creative skills. Graduates will be prepared to find innovative solutions and lead programs in higher education environments. Students will learn the roles, functions and responsibilities of higher education institutions and be prepared to work with and serve these institutions’ diverse stakeholders.
If you are interested in a career teaching in higher education and want to work with adult learners in a post-secondary environment, the Curriculum and Instruction concentration will give you the tools you need. For those working in, or desiring to work in, an administrative capacity in higher education, the Administrative Leadership concentration will challenge and inspire you.
Offered in Concord
All of the courses in this new CAGS program will be offered at PSU’s Concord location at 2 Pillsbury Street to make it more convenient for students from throughout the state to complete the program.
