Program Description:
The Department of Psychology at UNLV has Ph.D. programs in Clinical and Experimental Psychology. The Clinical Psychology program is APA accredited and based on the scientist-practitioner model. The program has a strong applied research emphasis supported by outstanding faculty specializing in the etiology, assessment, and treatment of both child and adult psychopathology. In addition to extensive laboratory facilities, the Department has a new on-campus, state-of-the-art outpatient clinic that provides psychological services to the community.
The Experimental program is based on a mentoring model in which students work closely with one or more faculty members. Areas of emphasis include Cognition, Neuroscience, Human Factors, Aging, and Child Development. Research in this program is supported with extensive laboratory facilities and state of the art equipment. Faculty also collaborate with other departments across the university.
