Program Description:

A successful construction leader faces challenges in the built environment by possessing a strong foundation in the traditional construction topics augmented by multidisciplinary concepts. With these needs in mind, the School of Engineering & Applied Science offers both degree and non-degree education opportunities for professionals within the built environment. Students in the Master of Construction Management program are offered the following courses: Complete four courses from the following list: Fundamentals of Construction Management* Legal Aspects of Construction* Construction Cost Engineering* Construction Project Planning and Scheduling* Financial Principles of the company Focus courses Select four of the following: Quality Processes in Construction Management* Construction Risk Management Construction Claims Special Topic: Heavy Civil Construction Management Advanced Construction Operations Elective courses Six units of elective courses may be selected from the following or other graduate courses with approval: Construction Management of High Technology Facilities Special Topic: Sustainable Construction Special Topic: Business Development for Construction Professionals Special Topic: Fundamentals of Construction Safety Management Business Ethics in Construction Project Cost and Resource Analysis and Management Earned Value Analysis Technical Communications Technological Entrepreneurship Technology Change Management Project Management Fundamentals Applying Project Management *If you complete the five required courses for the Graduate Certificate in Construction Management, you may earn the Master of Construction Management and the Graduate Certificate in Construction Management. However, you must submit an application and be admitted for the Graduate Certificate in Construction Management.
