PK-12 Educational Administration
The Master’s and Educational Specialist degrees prepare individuals for principal and superintendent positions. Both programs have a required core of classes that are designed to address state certification standards. The Doctorate in Educational Administration PK-12 degree is designed to deepen the content competencies and applied leadership skills of students following the completion of a Master’s or specialist degree (or equivalent) in the field of Education Administration. Coursework for all degrees is structured to allow students to complete the degree in a specified amount of time and provides students with the knowledge, skills and dispositions necessary to exercise visionary leadership in diverse and dynamic environments, including urban settings.
Higher Education Administration
Master’s Degree: The 36-hour program includes a higher education core, internship, research, foundation and elective hours. Elective hours can be used to focus study in: student affairs administration, sports and exercise science administration, foundations of education and disability studies. In addition, students have the option of full- or part-time study. Course offerings are designed to meet the needs of both full- and part-time study.
Doctoral Degree: The Higher Education Administration Program offers the Ed.D. and the Interdisciplinary Ph.D. Both programs require 90 credit hours beyond the bachelor’s degree and students may apply up to 40 hours from a Master’s degree. The IPh.D. admits annually in the fall and the Ed.D. admits on a cohort basis every three years.
