Program Description:

Graduates of these master's programs should: Discuss with and teach others the knowledge and skills necessary for operating computers. Discuss the role of computers in the workplace and for various careers. Demonstrate proficiency with the major types of application software. Locate resources for teaching computer literacy. Exhibit knowledge of computer hardware and networks. Improve instruction in the classroom through the proper use of multimedia and instructional technology. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Facilities Northwest was the first comprehensive Electronic Campus in the United States. Students have access to several microcomputer-based local area networks, Internet, and networked PCs. Courses are delivered via traditional classroom and Instructional Television and Online Courses. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Graduate Assistantships Graduate teaching assistantships are available for students attending during the fall and spring trimesters. Assistantships include a full tuition waiver and provide a competitive stipend.


Northwest is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Northwest has been an AQIP institution since 2005, and served as a pilot institution in the development of AQIP in the late 1990s.
