Program Description:
The Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) entry-level curriculum prepares students to be reflective occupational therapy practitioners in traditional and emerging areas of practice. The program prepares graduates to practice in a variety of settings such as hospitals, homes, private practices, rehabilitation facilities, schools, community and governmental agencies, industry, and education or research centers. The entry-level occupational therapy master’s degree program has applied for accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). Once accreditation of the program has been obtained, its graduates will be eligible to sit for the national certification examination for the occupational therapist administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). After successful completion of this exam, the individual will be an Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR).
