Program Information

Degrees Offered:

Master in Education

Format: Hybrid

Program Description:

Drury University's School of Education and Child Development is Missouri's longest standing accredited teacher preparation program. The underlying philosophy of our graduate education program is that teachers, administrators/leaders, and those in the field of human services need professional development, which links current research and theories to best practices in their respective fields.

The School of Education's graduate degrees consist of 30-33 credit hours (programs leading to teacher certification may require more). Some programs can be completed 100% online, but we offer a selection of seated, blended and online courses in 16-week and 8-week formats to provide flexible options for students. Applicants are welcome from any undergraduate discipline: A bachelor's degree in education is not required for entry.

The elementary education program and specific secondary content areas at Drury University are approved by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). The professional education unit has been approved by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). The elementary education program is also approved by the Association for Childhood Education International (ACEI).
