Program Description:
The Industrial Relations Center (IRC) offers M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Human Resources and Industrial Relations prepare graduates for professional and academic careers in human resource management, labor relations, and related fields. As part of the Carlson School of Management, IRC faculty and students have access to the resources and facilities of a first-class business school including state-of-the-art instructional facilities.
Our M.A. in Human Resources and Industrial Relations Program is recognized as one of the top programs of its kind in the country. In addition to providing access to one of the nation's most comprehensive HRIR reference libraries, the program gives students from diverse backgrounds a chance to study with a world-class faculty committed to providing a dynamic learning experience, inside and outside of the classroom. The required core courses for the M.A. degree give students a strong foundation in human resources and business while encouraging strategic thinking and analysis. The Twin Cities provides numerous part-time and full-time internship and networking possibilities that enrich the students’ academic coursework.
The Ph.D. program is a rigorous doctoral program that prepares students for academic careers as teachers and researchers. Along with the resources of one of the country's largest universities, the Ph.D. program gives students an opportunity to study with an internationally renowned faculty committed to providing each student with a rich educational experience.
