Program Description:

Early childhood special education is a degree program that has been jointly developed with the special education department. This degree is for persons who would like to assume teaching positions in programs for young children who have disabilities or in programs working with parents of children with disabilities. You will learn about child development, methods for teaching young children with disabilities and screening and assessing young children. Your studies will also look at family structure and its impact on child development. You will learn skills in early intervention and early childhood special education. You will end with a supervised student teaching opportunity.
