Master of Social Work
At Augsburg, our purpose is to prepare advanced social work practitioners for agency-based practice in public and nonprofit settings. We emphasize client strengths and empowerment, problem solving within a holistic, systems framework and practice informed by solid research and evaluation. Our urban Minneapolis neighborhood includes many immigrant and American Indian families and organizations, providing us with community partnerships that expose our students to a wide-range of cultural traditions and global world views. We offer courses on a weekend intensive format and field practicum sites in both urban and rural settings. Two concentrations are offered: Family Practice or Program Development, Policy & Administration (Macro Practice).
