Program Description:
The Master of Arts in Education is a post-baccalaureate program that offers initial Minnesota State teaching licensure in elementary, secondary, special education and English as a second language. Master’s completion courses, with a theme of teacher leadership, are also offered with a choice of final project options. Endorsements or additions to a current teaching license are available in Special Education, Reading, English as a Second Language and Pre-Primary, also with master’s completion options. Middle School endorsements are available at the undergraduate level in communication arts, social studies, mathematics and general science. Students benefit from the college’s urban setting, a time-honored program and extensive community relationships. They develop as a reflective professional educator as they progress through the curriculum to their student teaching.

Augsburg College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The M. A. in Education program is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and approved by the Minnesota Board of Teaching.
