Program Description:

The MA in Liberal Studies program, under the authority of the Rackham School of Graduate Studies (UM-Ann Arbor), is designed for professionals who value the liberal arts and seek a flexible and individualized post-baccalaureate education. The program offers challenging interdisciplinary study to adults who want a master’s degree that will: deepen and broaden their education while maintaining their careers; fill in perceived gaps in knowledge; allow students to pursue new interests; and explore knowledge across disciplinary boundaries. While neither a professional or vocational degree, it develops critical thinking and writing skills as well as interdisciplinary knowledge and techniques that may be applied in professional and vocational contexts.
