The department awards a Master's degrees, and is involved in a joint Master's degree program with Atmospheric, Oceanic and Space Sciences. We also award a Doctoral degree. We graduate approximately 60 Master's students per year, and 20 PhD's.
The graduate degrees offered are: Master of Science in Engineering: This is the Master's degree pursued by most of our graduate students. It requires an undergraduate degree in Engineering. Master of Engineering (Space Engineering): This program is designed to give students hands-on, real-world expertise in space mission systems engineering at a "professional" Master's degree level. Jointly developed by Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Atmospheric, Oceanic and Space Sciences, the program uses an interdisciplinary approach appropriate for students from a wide variety of engineering backgrounds. Doctor of Philosophy: This is the Doctorate pursued by most of our graduate students.
