The School Psychology PsyD program at William James College is NASP-approved and APA-accredited. This program prepares practitioners to assume leadership roles in the education field, with an emphasis on the delivery of mental health services in schools as well as development of advanced level practice skills. All students pacticipate in required hands- on field experience at both the practicum and internship level.
There are two options for entering the School Psychology PsyD program. A student can pursue the MA/CAGS/PsyD program or a student can enter with the MA/CAGS and received Advanced Standing. The Advanced Standing option is designed to enable practicing school psychologists to pursue doctoral level training while continuing to work in their school positions, with a significant amount of the coursework offered in the late afternoons and evenings, and during the summer months.
Students in the School Psychology PsyD program can choose an optional concentration in Children and Families of Adversity and Resilience, African and Caribbean Mental Health, Global Mental Health, or Latino Mental Health.
