Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.)
One of the premiere APA approved Clinical Psychology programs in the nation featuring full and careful integration of academic theory and field practice throughout each of the five years of the program. This model enables students to develop theoretical knowledge and applied skills simultaneously, as each informs the other. Taught by experienced practitioner faculty, the program does not advocate any single theoretical orientation. Rather, it provides students with a generalist base in theory and practice.
The PsyD in Clinical Psychology at William James College offers areas of concentration in Forensic Psychology, Clincial Health Psychology, Neuropsychology, Georpsychology, and an intesive program in Chidlren and Families of Adversity and Resilience. Additionally students can choose to pair a concentration with one of the following: Latino Mental Health, African and Carribbean Mental Health, Global Mental Health, or Military and Veterans Psychology. Students in our multicultural tracks are encouraged to participate in one of our summer international immersion programs.
William James College offers an APA-accredited Internship Consortium exclusive to our students. The Internship COnsortium is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the American Psychological Association (APA). We currently have 18 training sites in the Consortium, including hospitals, colleges, and community health agencies.
