Program Description:

Regis College offers an immersive, full-time opportunity to complete a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy in the Boston, MA area. Small, innovative classes enable personalized attention and focus on each student. This degree allows you to work with clients of all ages to provide therapeutic services to promote health, well-being and improve quality of life. As you learn to become an Occupational Therapist, you will master how to evaluate, integrate and apply the principles of occupational therapy both in the classroom and through fieldwork.

Program Objectives

Obtain practical and transferable skills that will enable you to critically analyze a client’s needs, problem solve and develop treatment plans.

  • The courses will prepare you to take the certification exam administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Upon passing the NBCOT, you will be qualified as a Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR) and be able to apply for licensure in your state.
  • Learning outcomes for the specific courses are established according to national occupational therapy education guidelines.

Gaining Experience in the OT Field

Level 1 and Level 2 fieldwork enables you to implement classroom strategies directly in a clinical setting. Regis has partnered with local organizations to provide a broad array of fieldwork opportunities, however, you may also arrange placement outside of the Boston area. Level 2 fieldwork, at the end of the program, is a 12-week full-time internship, which students frequently complete in their home state.
