Program Information

Degrees Offered:

Master of Science in Health Administration, Graduate Certificate in Health Administration

Format: Campus

Program Description:

You can earn a Master of Science in Health Administration in as little as three semesters. Courses are designed with the busy working professional in mind and are offered on weekends and evenings, and many are taught in an intensive hybrid format with an online component. A flexible schedule of full or part-time study can be designed according to your individual needs. You may also further enhance your degree by taking additional courses to complete a certificate in gerontology, informatics, or public health.

Program Objectives

The Graduate Program in Health Administration explores the critical issues in healthcare and the strategies needed to meet the increasing demand for accessible, high quality and affordable care. In our program, students develop the skills required to become highly effective healthcare managers, leaders, and policy-makers in hospital systems, public health programs, long-term care agencies, health insurance companies, government programs, and in many other healthcare settings.

Gaining Experience

If you have limited experience in healthcare, a 100-hour field experience in a healthcare administration setting will enable you to learn from professionals in the field and build a professional network. Field placements have occurred at places such as Brigham and Women's Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, Cambridge Health Alliance, Joslin Diabetes Center, Boston Children’s Hospital, Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers, and the Massachusetts Hospital Association. If you have had at least two years of experience in a relevant healthcare setting, including one year in a management role, the field experience requirement may be waived, subject to the approval of the program director.
