The Master of Science in Management is a comprehensive business management program designed to prepare graduates for successful leadership positions.
For working professionals and recent graduates of any discipline, this one-year program offers an accelerated path to obtaining an advanced degree that is valued by leading employers. Graduates are prepared to capably address complex business challenges and compete for key leadership and management roles around the globe.
Our MSM emphasizes creative problem-solving skills, integrity and responsibility, and a global perspective, all of which are essential for personal and professional success in today’s rapidly changing business environment. It is designed to benefit students who hold both business and non-business undergraduate degrees. Students of all disciplines will gain an excellent business education and acquire valuable skills and knowledge that will broaden their range of career options.
Courses are designed to prepare early-career level managers to:
- understand the complex business environment
- develop advanced skills at interpreting and using information to make managerial decisions
- gain a macro and global perspective of the interconnections of economies and business
- gain tailored skills on leading change (e.g., in teams, in organizations, etc.)
Managers today need multidimensional skills in finance, market analysis, project management and global economics. Utilizing case studies, research projects, and reports, you will develop the knowledge and competencies needed to excel in a highly competitive marketplace. Our curriculum combines competencies in leadership and ethics, enabling students to thrive in today’s job market.
All of the courses in our program employ pedagogy that emphasizes application. Additionally, you will select leadership electives that are relevant to your leadership situations and processes such as teamwork, organizational change, and innovation. You can focus on the specific areas of management and operations that are relevant to your career.
You may begin the Master of Science in Management program in either the fall, spring, or summer terms. Students enrolled full time complete their degree work in one year. Students may also enroll part time and complete this degree at their own pace.
Accreditation:Merrimack College is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc. through its Commission on Institutions of Higher Education.
International Student Requirements:All graduate international applicants for whom English is not his/her native language and did not complete a bachelor’s degree in the US must demonstrate English proficiency by submitting scores from one of the following tests: The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is designed to measure an applicant’s ability to communicate in English in a college or university setting. Merrimack College requires a minimum score of 80 on the internet-based test (no subset below 18) for all graduate applicants. The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is designed to measure an applicant’s ability to communicate in English in a college or university setting. Merrimack College requires a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 (with no band below 5.5) for all graduate applicants.
