Program Description:

In this action-based Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Community Arts, you will get an interdisciplinary foundation in arts-based community work, grant writing, arts administration, networking, fundraising, and other components that will enable you to effect change through art. Six credits of specialization courses and twelve credits of electives help you tailor your program to your particular passion. Choose the specialization that best fits your interest, mission, and purpose, from among: Community Media Integrated Arts Multicultural Education Theater Studies Visual Art The program consists of 36 credits, including 6 credits of specialization courses, 9 credits of required courses, and 12 credits of arts foundation/interdisciplinary arts electives Classes are offered at Lesley's Cambridge, MA, campus A culminating thesis project documents students' research work in specific areas of interest Students choose from five specialization areas An internship is required at a location related to specialization; may be in Boston, in the US, or in another country Students develop individual electronic portfolios
